Lixin Zhang is a Professor of School of Mathematical Sciences at Zhejiang University. He received his Ph.D. in Probability and Mathematical Statistics from Fudan University in 1995. He jointed Zhejiang University as a professor of probability and mathematical statistics at 1997 and served as director of Institute of Statistics from 2007 to 2012, Vice Chair of Department of Mathematics from 2009 to 2017. He is now serving as a Vice Chair of Center for Data Science at Zhejiang University, the president of Zhejiang Association for Applied Statistics and a council member of Chinese Association of Applied Statistics. He has published more than 150 research papers in various areas of statistics and probability including adaptive designs in clinical trials, limit theorems, non-linear expectations, sample path properties of stochastic processes and dependent data modeling. He was enrolled the New Century Excellent Talents Program of Education Ministry of China in 2008 and was awarded the Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) grant for Distinguished Young Scholars in 2012 for his contributions in limit theorems in probability and theory on adaptive designs.
